What is Singapore Math?

Singapore mathematical method is a scientific and highly efficient teaching method, popular in more than 40 countries around the world. Students studying Singapore math consistently ranked the top in international math testings, such as the TIMSS (International Mathematics and Scientific Research Trends) and PISA (International Student Abilities Assessment Program). Singapore math’s innovative CPA teaching method (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) and strategies (number bonds, bar modelling, and mental math...) not only cultivate students’ mathematical thinking and foster a love for learning, but also boost their analysis, synthesis, problem solving, and logical reasoning skills, which could not only benefit them in math but across a variety of disciplines.

Curriculum

Booya Academy uses the newest, common-core aligned US edition Singapore Math curriculum published by Singapore Math Inc and created by a team of educators and experts with over 100 combined years of Singapore math classroom experience. In this new edition, contents were expanded and refined for clarity and relevance and the design was optimized to better fit students’ learning needs. Vibrant colors and interesting characters were also included to better engage young learners and make learning fun.

Booya Singapore Math

Booya offers Singapore Math for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. Before the class, students will take a placement test to ensure they are put in the class that best fit their ability. Our Math teachers are professionals in their fields with many years of teaching experience in Canadian public/private schools. With strong knowledge of the BC Math curriculum, they effectively integrated the innovation and strategies of Singapore math with what the students are learning from school to create a more enhanced and efficient learning experience. Our small class sizes also allows one-on-one attention from the teacher and a more personalized learning that helps students reach their fullest potential.
